In this second video we returned to Fabriano's Museo Della Carta E Della Filigrana to learn about and create handmade leather bound books. with Giuseppe Baldinelli's. We first visited bookbinding master Giuseppe Baldinelli's and his Officina
Libris bookbinding factory on our field trip to Assisi and Gubbio. We then attended Luigi Mecella's wire watermarking workshop and studied paper marbling with Lidia.
After the lectures, we were on to Urbino's Ducal Palace or the National Gallery of the Marche - Galleria Nazionale in the city of Raphael's birth! Urbino is a huge walled city in the tradition of medieval castles - it was amazing!
We ended our day with a rustic Marche dinner at the hilltop town of Frontone. In our last 2 days in Fabriano, we had a 'gala" dinner at the Marchese del Grillo Inn, an afternoon at the Sirolo beach on the Adriatic sea and a cooking lesson and feast at the home of Giorgio and Irene Pellegrini . Giorgio is the Director of The Museo della Carta E Della Filigrana.
